Information Sharing Challenge Fund

We're really pleased to say that we've been awarded a grant from the Department of Health in partnership with Heatherwood and Wexham Park Hospitalsto develop an Information Took Kitcompliant interface to the DrDoctor platform. This will allow us to pass ITK compliant messages between the trusts systems and our communication platform. We're pleased to say the final code will be open source, letting other trusts using the same integration engine build on our work.

The benefit to patients should be substantial, as they will be able to access their booking data using our system, live and online.

The DH has awarded 43 projects at 38 trusts or NHS organisations with a total funding of £2.19m. Funds like this are vital to stimulating real innovation in the NHS. The full list of projects is here, and you can read more about the ITK on the Connecting for Health site.
